I would just like to say a big Thankyou for what you have written about this fab building, it’s very moving, I especially like her ‘fluttering eyelashes!’
Once again here’s to saving the futurist.

I remember watching Hitchcocks Physco on the Futurist…
I lived local and could have easily walked home….but jumped a bus!! That was one scary film.
Me and my husband had our first date at the Futurist, I was 15 and he was 17 years old. He asked for double seats, (they were more comfortable) they cost 7/6p in old money. He thought we were getting a bargin, two seats for 7/6 but that was for each seat. He didn’t have enough money to pay for them so I had to lend him £2. I worked in Woolworths and he worked on the Docks. My pay was about £3 10 shillings, he paid me back the next week. It didnt put me off him so I must have liked him. The film was El Cid with Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren. I can still remember their lips were moving out of sync with the sound, ha ha.
That is brilliant!! Thank you Ann. These are the memories that will support the campaign to save the facade of the wonderful, beautiful Futurist!
