The Future of the Great Streets!

THE blueprint to drive forward Liverpool city centre over the next 15 years has been launched today. A host of projects that should be prioritised for investment are included in the Liverpool City Centre Strategic Investment Framework 2012 by the city’s regeneration agency Liverpool Vision. Upgrading the city’s three so-called “Great Streets” (The Strand, Hope Street, and the corridor from Lime Street to Water Street along Dale Street).

The Former Futurist Cinema should be integrated into this Vision. “Correction” will be integrated to future plans!

  1. did you know that local artist Paul Rooney made a short film which was shot inside the Futurist? It was shown at Tate Liverpool and is currently being shown at the Victoria Gallery Liverpool (University) as part of the exhibition ‘Here comes Franz’. I think the exhibition closes on 22nd Dec if you want to catch it before then. Film was shot in very recent years and shows some of interior.

  2. The futurist really could become the heartbeat of this project. Imagine a centre for the community promoting arts, youth culture and music. Positively promoting all that is great about Liverpool. For me this is about MY city and our futurist!
